My sister Bianca and I buried a lot of bad men that summer.

The Sleepwalker had screened in competition at First Time Fest earlier this weekend, and, as such, it ran the risk of winning stuff at an award ceremony this afternoon. While I ate my ravioli and watched Colbert online it was brought to my attention that there existed a category for Best Score, and, merely an hour before the ceremony, I decided to show up, just in case. As I stepped off the subway on Times Square I torched my umbrella, stepped into the ceremony and sat down - mere meters from Tony Bennett and a strange painting of Slash. The man on stage said my name, and that of someone called Kato Åbland, known to his mama as Kato Ådland, and so I walked right up there and humbly accepted the award for Outstanding Achievement In Scoring. The Sleepwalker’s @zgaller also took home the award for Outstanding Achievement. And someone grabbed my shoulder and said “congratulations! I love music”. Thanks! (at FIRST TIME FEST)

"There’s a tendency in our time, subscribing to the idea that anything ‘authentic’ or ‘honest’ is automatically good. I find that depressing. You have to actually create something. There has to be a process. I try to avoid just singing my diary over a couple of chords."
